Outfit - Down To Earth (Can you tell I'm obsessed with this store?!) // Photography - Rachel Kaye Photography // Rachel's Style Blog

I'm completely in love with this dress. I think it can be a great transitional dress but also will be gorgeous in the winter. Pair some black tights and booties with it, oh I cannot wait!
Yesterday was awesome I spent time with Rachel from Rachel Kaye Photography and we just drank tons of lattes, talked and did photos. Sounds like a fab day to me.

Autumn Feels

Outfit - Down To Earth \\ Sunglasses - Forever 21 \\ Purse - Aldo

If you've read my last few posts, you'd already know how excited I am for fall, to some it's too early, but I'm defiantly loving this cooler weather. This entire outfit is from Down To Earth in downtown Grand Haven, and I'm completely obsessed with it. When I first tried on this sweater I was a little scared it'd be itchy like most, but I can hardly get out if it; it's the softest and most comfortable sweater I own.

Brand Focus | Talula Christian

Aren't these just the prettiest prints you ever did see?
So I spend A LOT of time on Etsy, probably wayy wayy to much time. Matt and I are attempting to create a gallery wall, and when I stumbled across Talula Christian's designs I instantly fell in love! I will defiantly be dressing up my desk area and living room wall with a couple of these gems!

Planting Succulents

This Summer I've learned something quite interesting about myself, I enjoy getting my hands a little dirty, yes a little dirty. I don't know what it is but there's something therapeutic digging and getting your hands in the soil. Last Summer when Matt and I moved in together we rented and so I didn't do much weeding and "out doorsey" stuff. October we bought a house then winter was here, and now Its summer and I can't believe I actually enjoy being outside and just doing "stuff!" When I was living with my parents I didn't do diddly squat. They'd ask me 100 times to just water flowers, and it was such a hassle for me! (Sorry Mom and Dad!) Well, that was a really long explanation to say that I now love gardening and succulents.
Now I'm no PRO at succulents this is just what I have personally done and that has seemed to work. It worked well enough that my little succulents are still alive so to me, that's success!
I bought these little babies at Horrocks as well as the little pot. The soil and stones I purchased at a local Home Depot.
So first STEP
1 // Because I don't know anything about planting, and I didn't know what to do about the hole in the bottom of the pot, so I legit cut a plastic plate and shoved it down in the bottom. Now I understand that's a bit "jankey" but oh well it worked! (It's probably there for a specific reason so if any of you know you're more than welcome to share ha-ah!)

2 // I poured the soil to fill the entire pot and placed the stones on top then mixed them all together. I also watered the soil to add some moisture to it. I don't know why I did this It's just what Southern Living said to do sooo that's what I did!

3// I gently took the little succulents out of the containers and made two holes in the soil and gently placed them in the holes then filled the spaces around them with more soil.

4// Then I just put some stones on top of the soil and super gently tucked them under the plants!

annnnd VOILA!

I hope you enjoyed this mini tutorial it was super simple and pretty self-explanatory! Hope you guys have a super week!

Life is CRAZYYY guys just absolute crayy! I'm thankful for busyness and craziness but sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming as we all know. I gave myself a little time to myself this morning and decided to do one of my favorite things and thats to browse Etsy. As you guys know i'm defiantly a lover of supporting smaller businesses and obviously Etsy is filled with them. I don't know what it is but browsing and shopping gives me a sense of calmness, truly! So as I was browsing I "favorited" a few things and thought I'd throw them together to show you what I've been cravin'!

Blush Hues

I got short of breath when I first saw this photo. The contour, highlights, "blushy" hues, winged liner just everything in this photo is complete perfection. I've always been a fan of simplicity; less is more type of thing and I think her look is just that. I love the simplicity of the winged liner and nothing else, no heavy blush or lip color just a "blushy" hue. I've put together nine products that I think would give you this exact look! Most of the products you probably already have dupes of or something similar in your makeup bag, but the combination of these products will give you this glam but effortless look.

Local Lovin' | Horrocks Market

Dress Buffalo Bobs // Scarf Down To Earth // Booties Steve Madden // Jacket Forever 21
Firstly, Happy Good Friday Everyone!!
So I thought I'd start a new segment on my blog called Local Lovin' this will be where I share my favorite new places and local businesses! As you probably know, I've always been a big BIG fan of supporting and shopping local. A lot of my clothing I do buy locally. (not all but I try!) On this little bloggie I've raved a lot about small local business in Grand Haven, Mi. Now that Grand Rapids is my new stomping grounds I'm slowly but surely finding my new favorite places to eat, shop and to buy fresh produce.
Horrocks is an independent Market that has a GINORMOUS selection of great food, super fresh produce, great greenhouse, home decor and a really really reallyyyyyy awesome candy selection. They pretty much have everything. But of course, as you can tell; my favorite is the floral section. Rachel and I went to Horrocks one day and that girl is quite the visionary she had the idea to shoot some photos which I was kind of iffy about it at first but the girl is obviously brilliant, the photos turned out awesome!
So guys, you must go over to Rachel's page and check her out because she's amazing, and if you come to michigan or if you live in Michigan make sure to head over to Horocks and check it out, It's pretty cool and every time I go It's always fresh new, and trendy.

Have a fab weekend guys!

Closet Ready

Call me a retail junkie but to me there is nothing more perfect and satisfying than finding a new statement piece to add to my closet. (I'm a firm believer in Retail Therapy.) Since you're here I'm assuming you're on the same page as me and nothing is more exhilarating than adding a new "statement" to that wardrobe.
I try really really hard to add something different each season. With any of these colorful pieces you'll be sure you're on trend for this season!

Muted

One of my favorite things to do is browse around other blogs and see what their "dream home" or what their inspiration is.. I feel like we all have sort of the same idea as far as simplicity I find that most bloggers love the simple and white look to a room.
I've always been a fan of a "muted" room. I find them peaceful, airy and quite relaxing. I thought I'd share some photos and rooms that I am very much inspired by and would love to have in my home one day.

Spring Pastel Wishlist

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8

These past couple of days I have been going crayyyy about Spring. Mother Nature has teased us with close to 50 degree weather, so now I'm expecting that every day!

I think everyone and their brother knows that spring is synonymous with pastels. The other day I was reading Devon Rachel's blog and was going gaga over this outfit. Which is why I bring you this post! I have so much dang respect for that girl and her style so if she says wear this, dang it I will.
