I had the best lunch date with my good friend kelsey we finally took time from out busy lives and went to lunch in East Town at Marie Catrib's and it was absolutely wonderful, everyone there had the best attitude and the food was to die for. They make everything from scratch, the food is local and the meat is grass fed. ((so much perfection!)) Anyways, us girls got to catch up and it was great. We had so so so many laughs and so much to talk about. I really forget about my friends sometimes and thats sad, so much busyness goes on in life and we forget those important people but this little lunch date was a great reminder.

Change Your Favicon

So even though uploading your favicon is super easy, so easy that I was making it way more difficult for myself than it should be. Once I found out the way to change my favicon I felt a tad silly but thought you know what, people probably have been having the same dilemma as me, so I thought i'd share a short tutorial on how to change / personalize your favicon

First Step //  design your favicon! If you don't have photoshop you can use free online photo editing sites like picmonkey or gimp. Remember that your favicon is super small so make sure it's something simple so everyone can see it!

Second Step // Resize your image, you can make it any size it just has to be square. What I noticed was the best is 200 x 200

Third Step //  Go to your blogger layout section and on the top left hand corner there will be a widget that says favicon. Click on it and upload your image! Yes it's that simple! Don't worry if it doesn't show up right away mine took a day or two!

Old Boys Brewhouse Fashion Show

a few days ago i got to spend time with my Down To Earth family! We got together for a Fashion Show at Old Boys Brewhouse. It was so wonderful too see everyone and spend time with delicous hors d'oeuvres and cocktails.

Its been so long since i've seen these girls and they're those types of people where you don't have to see them for months and nothing has changed. I'm so grateful to have them in my life.

cheesy grub sandwiches

I first discovered this recipe here and I had to try it out! Since football season is here I thought that this would be the perfect hardy "football" food! It would be perfect for bringing in a crock-pot for tailgating or a home party.

recipe,

1 lb lean hamburger meat (80/20)

2 teaspoons Montreal steak seasoning 

1 teaspoon Worchestershire sauce 

2 tablespoons butter 

2 tablespoons flour 

3/4 cup milk 

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese 

salt and pepper to taste

In a skillet, brown ground beef and season with Montreal steak seasoning and Worchestershire. 

Drain off any rendered fat and set aside. 

In a saucepan, melt the butter and whisk in the flour. 

Allow to cook for 3-4 minutes over medium high heat until mixture is light brown. 

Slowly whisk in the milk and bring it to a boil. Continue whisking until smooth while it thickens. 

Remove it from heat and stir in the cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Pour the cheese sauce over the seasoned ground beef and stir to combine.

Jersey Junction

Last Saturday I teamed up with Carisa from Bunnies and Pearls and we had a little ice cream date! Jersey Junction has the best, i mean the best ice cream ever. [Particularly the cake batter flavor.] I had such a great time seeing parts of Grand Rapids that I haven't seen before! Since I recently moved to Grand Rapids she took me around East Grand Rapids and I couldn't believe how much it reminded me of Grand Haven. It hit a little close to home but it was great to see this little part of the city!

We had such a great day, it was filled with laughs, photo taking [which we don't take ourselves too seriously with..] and just getting to know each other and my new home. It's taking a bit to get used to you Grand Rapids but I think I kind of like you!
