Goals for 2013

be joyful be great.
I am one of those goal setter junkies that get upset when I don’t accomplish it by the New Year. I always seem to set more materialistic things which will never make you feel completely satisfied because in human nature we always want more and more. Like making the decision to cut out dairy, lose this about of weigh or wanting a new wardrobe. This year I decided to make a different set of goals instead of materialist things I decided to make the decision to just be happy. Change my way of thinking, and live by these phrases.
Love them more expect less.
Jealousy comes from counting others blessings instead of their own.
Let your faith be bigger than your fear.
The more you love your decisions the less you need others to love them.
Be so good, they can’t ignore you.
Never look down on someone unless you’re helping them up.
Be kind to unkind people, they need it the most.
Talking about our problems is our greatest addiction. Break the habit. Talk about your joys.
Your mind is everything. What you think, you become.
Do it with passion or not at all.

Dots and Stripes

Lately I’ve had a little obsession with anything polka dots from my pajamas, shoes, to my skirt. I was so excited when I opened up this skirt on christmas morning. It has a perfect fit and is the perfect length, I immediately started taking notes in my head what my next blog post would look like. For some reason I felt this top would be perfect.

Playing With Patterns

Gap Top, Scarf from Down To Earth, Gap Blue Velvet Pants, Old Boots
I was hesitant combining so many different patterns in an outfit but for some reason I was “diggin’” the look. Even though there is a dust of snow on the ground I’m more than pleased with the weather. I so glad that i’m not having to be chilled outside with a gigantic winter coat.

Luncheon at Village Baker

My good friend Kelsey discovered this little local bakery for me in our town, and I couldn't help but fall in love with it. Everything they have there is so adorable from table placements, the way they serve the food, and the service there is great, everyone has a positive attitude and you can tell they genuinely love what the do. Oh and the food is exceptional.

Life Lately

First off I'd like to take a minute and deeply apologize for not keeping up on my blog, e-mails, and you lovely readers. I've been incredibly busy lately but it's been a really great thing. As you all know I'm extremely into holistic health and energy work. After hard work I received my certification in Bio Energetic Synchronization Technique to learn more about that you can read here. I began to be very passionate about it when I linked it to a big weight loss that I've talked about here. My clientele has been growing quite fast which is really great, but is also the reason why Sunny has been on the back burner.. I promise to keep this going I have huge plans for Sunny.

Red Velvet Cookies

I had a Pot Luck Christmas Party to attend this week and decided to make these festive red velvet cookies. I used this recipe and I'm extremely pleased with it, probably the best I've come across. Notice it says white vinegar, but I read that lemon juice is a substitute for it. I didn't have the time to run up to the store so I decided to take the risk. In all honesty you couldn't tell and noone even knew. They were a huge hit

Swim Spot

Although the “flutter” tops have been trendy for a while, I couldn’t resist falling in love with this one. It’s so clean, simplistic and has simple and beautiful detailing on it. This top is adorable, and let me tell you the bottoms are very booty flattering too. I paired it with a chunky necklace and a classic fedora hat. I’m counting down the days until Summer when I can wear it by the pool. Until then, it will be hanging in my closet.

Guest Blogger

Mr. Matt Jones my wonderful boyfriend blew me away by his well written blog post he did  for his works website. Since my blog is about being happy and positive I thought I should share this with you guys.
You can find the original post at Supply Geeks
Life has a tendency to throw us a curve ball or two every now and then. This unexpected bump in the road usually seems to happen at the worst possible time. However, whether you react or respond to the given situation is determined by your attitude. Staying positive during tough times may seem hard to imagine right now, but it is possible. Not only possible, it will help you power through it with a smile on your face. That attitude is only a few simple steps and thoughts away.
Change Your Thinking
Your thinking is the most important ingredient to being happy and content. The quicker you can change the way you think and your attitude towards people, things, and situations; the quicker your life will change. Positive thoughts will bring more positive thoughts into your life. This in turn will make you a much happier person. You will however need to practice and practice and practice this technique. Surrounding yourself by positive people and letting negative things roll off is a great place to start. Don’t worry, it will get easier the more you work on it.
Take Responsibility of Everything
Naturally (and rightfully so), we are quick to give ourselves a pat on the back when things go right. The feeling of being content and happy is the best feeling in the world. However, as humans, we also have the tendency to shift blame on anything and anyone else but ourselves when things start to go south. The truth is that everything that happens in your life (good or bad,) is there because of you and only you. Knowing and understanding this can totally change your viewpoint on a negative event or situation; switching from being the victim to total empowerment.
Remember: Everything Always Works Out
Every situation in life always works out the best way it is intended for you. How many times in your life can you think of a time where something that seemed horrible to begin with ended turning out great? Just remember that no matter the obstacle, think of it as an event on the path to where you want to go. Just remember to always be happy and know that everything will turn out to your benefit.
As we said before, whether you respond or react to something is key. These simple steps can get you on the path to happiness. It takes work, but it does work. The most successful and happy people have these steps mastered.

Casual Stripes

I guess I couldn't get enough of my jeans as I ranted about them here. Truly they're such a great fit and they add a little umph to any outfit. This is probably my "traditional" fall attire. A tee shirt, over sized sweater, scarf, jeans and booties. I find myself lacking on trends but I don't always think you need to be super trendy do have a fashion blog. I believe it is all about your personal style, what you wear and that  you feel good in it and others around you can recognize that.

Red & Black

As red and black has always been one of my favorite color combinations, I also feel they are always safe colors to work with. They say sophisticated but stylish at the same time no matter if trendy or not. I always love a good peplum top. Usually I'd pair it with a pencil skirt to make it a little traditional but I felt like this flowy pleated chiffon skirt made this outfit along with a sequin lined blazer.

Plaid Chic

I feel like plaid is a fall essential. Since I've never been to crazy about wearing plaid I thought I'd have fun with it and pair it when a pencil skirt and a chunky necklace. I was especially excited because this plaid shirt is from middle school, yes I hoard clothes. But I got my use out of it and turned it into cropped top. Now I'm not sure how much more I'll wear it but I'm glad I gave it to good use.
